Humane Society of the United States visits PAWS 

It was a wonderful day at PAWS on Monday, June 14, 2010.  Wayne Pacelle the CEO & President of The Humane Society of the United States along with Senator David Vitter visited our wonderful facility.  We were very excited (to say the least) and anxious to tell him all about our plans for the new green shelter we are going to be sharing with Plaquemines Animal Control.  During the tour of PAWS, we also mentioned that this new green shelter wouldn't have taken place without the spearheaded efforts of Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser and Senator David Heitmeier. Discussions also entailed on what we were doing about trying to keep all animals with their perspective owners due to the misfortune of this oil spill.  All in all it was a great day for PAWS.
